Sauces can be a base for many
delicious concoctions and the gravies that one makes. There are many ways to
make good tomato sauce. Here is a simple and basic one.
The oil is heated in a pan and the
garlic is sautéed. It is the first step towards a mouthwatering sauce.
Then the
canned tomatoes are added in the oil. This mixture is then brought to boil. The
mixture is brought to a quick simmer and is cooked for a span of 5 minutes.
After this, a blender can be used for the purpose of making the paste of the
tomatoes even more fine and plain. Even a large spoon can be used for the
purpose of mashing the tomatoes and making the blend an even one.
The mashing
and the blending is the key to the perfect sauce. The sauce is blended and
mixed well so that there is no sort of lump in it. This is what gives the even
taste and the uniform texture to it.
Then the taste of the sauce can be
enhanced and seasoned with the addition of spices like salt and pepper and chilies
if one wants to make it spicy and tangy. The basil is then added to it. It can
be served hot or cold.
It can be preserved for a long time. It has a good and
homogenous taste and at the same time one knows it is clean and fresh if it is
homemade. So all one needs to do is to get the ingredients and the process
right and then one can start making their own tomato sauce.
There are many
benefits of the canned tomato sauce over the freshly made one. This is because
there is more of the Lycopene pigment in the canned tomatoes; this is great in
reducing the risk of cancer.
